Player Code of Conduct

ATHLETES FOR MVYFC RECOGNIZE THAT PARTICIPATION IN OUR ATHLETIC PROGRAM IS A PRIVILEGE THAT ALWAYS NECESSITATES RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR DURING THE SPORTS SEASON. THE FOLLOWING RULES ARE INTENDED TO CLARIFY RESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR AND TO GIVE DIRECTION TO ATHLETES. FAILURE TO AGREE TO THESE RULES OR FOLLOW THEM WILL RESULT IN DISCIPLINARY ACTION UP TO AND INCLUDING EXPULSION FROM ANY AND ALL MVYFC PROGRAMS.


1.  All athletes must follow all USA Football, Granite State Football League, Snow Belt League, and NHIAA Spirit rules and regulations for athletic participation.


2. All athletes must exemplify good citizenship in both school and community and are subject to suspension and dismissal if behavior warrants such action. Such behavior includes any which reflects unfavorably on MVYFC, the team, the coach, or the athlete, and/or which results in school suspension or criminal penalty or indictment. This includes, but is not limited to the following:


Cheating


Defiance


Disrespect of persons and/or property


Dishonesty


Possession of unauthorized or stolen property


Bullying


Falsely reporting an incident


 

3. All athletes must refrain from using alcohol, tobacco, or other unauthorized substances, and refrain from any display of poor sportsmanship, and/or use of vulgar language at practice and/or games.


4. All athletes are responsible for lost equipment and are expected to return or replace lost or damaged equipment/uniforms.


5. All athletes are expected to:

Demonstrate respect for fellow teammates, coaches, game officials and opponents


Demonstrate loyalty to team and coaches


Demonstrate control over emotions


6. Self-Reporting: An athlete who requests assistance for a substance abuse problem prior to any reported violation will be directed to appropriate counseling. He/she will not be suspended from competition or practice for seeking assistance. Any violations after that time, however, may subject the athlete to penalty.
